계속해서 무엇을 가르킬건가를 적어준거다.
Division 14 is enjoying a great start to the
year.
We have been getting to know each other
through oral sharing, artwork, writing,
games and everyday interactions.
We are busy establishing routines and
expectations.
I am encouraging the students to be
thoughful and scholarly, to stretch their
thinking, and to develop their understanding
of what it means to be a rigorous learner.
All students are expected to listen to and
follow instructions, to work with commitment,
focus and concentration, and to keep their
materials organized and handy.
It is also important that the children work
hard to complete an assignment with the time
given and that they put forth their best effort
in all areas of their work
Students are encouraged to take pride in what
they do and to share their success with others.
In addition, students are responsible for
completing their homework and returning it
to school.
Your child's learning is assessed and their
performance evaluated through various means
including :
_ taking opportunities to conference one-on-
one with each child about his/her work
_ listening to them read individually
_ making observations as they interact with
one other during learning activities
_ noting participation during discussions and
reading activities
_checking assignments daily
Notes are kept pertaining to your child's
progress in these instances.
Learning opportunities are presented within
the context of several thematic units and
incorporate Language Arts, Social Studies,
Science, Math, Art, Music and Drama.
Division 14's integrating Principle is
Community.
In every aspect of our theme studies we will
explore how a community is ongoing and both
independent and interdependent.
Themes for the school year include:
All about Me, The Olympics, Community, BC
Past(pioneer life), DInosaurs and Earth,
Rocks and soil, Mapping, Ponds and wetlands,
Environment(pollution), and Mammals.
